About the work

The pot was bought empty, a generous gift for a plant that never arrived. It sat for weeks, then months, then a year, on this counter, waiting, collecting dust. Then one day, a friend dropped by with this tiny cactus, a last-minute impulse buy from a supermarket. It looked so lost in there, so utterly dwarfed. The boater hat is also new, and also a gift, but the dust motes have always been there, just not always caught in the light.
