About the work

The deepest part of a river is always changing, even when it looks the same. Things wear down, not always evenly. There’s a geometry to how things hold a place, a kind of gravitational pull that isn’t just about weight. It’s also about the way one thing has been picked up, again and again, by the same hand. A hand that knows the precise curve of a cold stone, the exact weight of a handful of small change. These are not things that demand attention, not in the way a face does. They simply accrue, the way a river accumulates the things it has carried.
