About the work

There are things you inherit beyond an address. A certain posture, a way the shoulders fall, the slight forward lean as if to meet an unseen current. It’s a trick of muscle memory, passed down from someone else’s burden, or from someone else’s brief, decisive moment. The body learns to hold what isn’t there, or to prepare for what isn’t coming. The light that pours over these surfaces understands this, too. It settles into the folds and hollows of the land with the same patient weight, etching every contour, every slight dip and rise, not as a mark of arrival, but as a record of continuous departure.
