About the work

The pigeon on the ledge has seen this before. Maybe not these specific four, but others with their rolled-up paper and cans of paint, drawn to the same stretch of pillar. It watches the careful unfolding of the stencil, the way the light catches the metallic sheen of the fresh spray paint. It’s seen the results too: bold designs that fade with the sun, only to be covered by another, or washed away by the next storm. For a moment, it considers flying down, disrupting the careful placement with a flutter of wings, a small act of defiance. But it doesn’t. It just watches, a silent, feathered witness to a cyclical human impulse.
