MDULAR
Cobblestone Street with a Crushed Carnation — print by Anya Pietrowski — MODULAR · 13 × 18 cm limited edition of 10

About the work

The flowers were cheap that morning, even for a Tuesday, because of the rain. The vendor would have taken fewer euros for that last bunch of carnations, still crisp despite the wet. If he had, the cyclist would have bought them. He has a trick for balancing unwieldy objects on his handlebars, a subtle shift in weight that only works with a certain centrifugal force. He's been doing it since he was a kid delivering newspapers through the same streets, and he's never dropped anything. Not once. But he did not buy the flowers.
