About the work

The right boot has been here before. Someone walked by and pushed it further into the corner, out of the way, but not away completely. It has that particular scuff, on the inside, near the ankle, that only comes from navigating a tight space – an urban gondola, maybe, or a crowded chairlift. Someone wore this boot down a mountain once, felt the wind on their face, the ache in their quads, a quiet thrill. Now it waits, for something, in the exact way a lost dog waits: not knowing how it got here, nor how to get back.
