About the work

She once told me she wanted to be one of those people who wake up at four in the morning and do something extraordinary. Something the rest of us couldn't imagine. Not for fame, not for money, just for the feeling of it. She moved to the plains for the light. It wasn’t the landscape that failed her, or the cold, or the early starts, but the sheer effort of it all. What she couldn’t account for was the weight of the balloon, the constant, low thrum of the burner.
