About the work

The pigeon on the asphalt is an unexpected anchor, a small, grey punctuation mark against the vibrant human performance. It pecks with a solemn, unhurried focus that seems to exist in a different time zone than the wide, joyous grins. This bird, perhaps, sees only the glint of crumbs, not the elaborate theatre of the human players, not the careful balancing act of an inner tube on a trolley. It implies a larger world just outside the frame, a world indifferent to our carefully staged moments of absurdity and release. There is a curious generosity in the way this scene unfolds, allowing both the profound effort of joy and the simple persistence of a bird to coexist without judgment. The whole thing feels like a secret, fleeting agreement, a temporary truce with the ordinary.
