About the work
That hoodie has a story I almost know. It was probably bought from a catalogue, late winter sale, something to wear under a coat. The olive green was a good compromise, not quite camouflage, not quite bright. It made it through a winter, maybe two, before the cuffs started fraying and the zip pull broke off. A replacement zip, a different color, now makes it less a garment and more a record of repair, of a determination to keep something going. It still doesn’t quite explain why it was chosen for this particular walk.
