About the work

There are gestures we repeat, not because they are necessary, but because the muscle memory has outlasted the original reason. We hum a tune long after the radio has been turned off. We make certain movements with our hands even if the object is no longer there. The body remembers what the mind forgets, or what the mind no longer needs. It’s a kind of inertia, a physical echo. Sometimes, this echo is shared, picked up by others, passed on like a low-frequency hum that vibrates just beneath the surface of conversation. It's not quite a language, but it's more than nothing. It is the residue of something lived, still present, still moving, even when the stage has changed and the curtain has fallen.
