About the work

That one’s been staring at her uniform since she was eleven. She’d cut the airline ads out of magazines, then spent hours tracing the lines of the collars, the pleats of the skirts. Years later, on the first day of training, they told her how to iron the scarf in a way that wouldn’t leave a single crease. It’s perfect now. It’s always perfect. But the uniform in the puddle — that one always looks just a little less tired than she feels.
