About the work
The hot air balloon has been up there for longer than seems possible. When the light was still bright, it looked like a toy, bright against the blue. Now it’s just a smudge, slowly getting bigger, but not by much. It carries no one. It carries a camera rig on a timer. The pictures it takes will show only a stand of saplings next to a crumbling wall, and the grey shell of a building where nobody has lived for a long time. It won’t show the wind that brought it this far, or what it was meant to photograph instead.
