About the work

The caution tape is a costume, but it's also a warning. You made it yourself, which is the only way to get a warning that close. The words are there, in your throat, and you can feel them, but they don’t change anything. You know what's coming, which is just more of what came before. Even the flamingo knows this, you think, in its quiet, pink way.
