About the work

There are always two horizons: one that touches the sky, and another that only reveals itself when you have arrived. We mistake the former for the latter. The earth, in its patience, holds the memory of many arrivals, many things brought to a sudden stop. What arrives with an intention, even the simplest, like leaning something against something else, carries a different kind of weight than what simply falls. The ground here does not forgive. It remembers every impact, every sudden shift in the air, the way a stone remembers its own turning. This stopping, this propping, is an act of deliberate grace in a landscape that seems to have forgotten such gestures.
