About the work

There are certain moments when a whole room contracts into a single point. Not just the physical space, but the time within it, folding inward, making everything else peripheral. A particular kind of air enters the lungs then, not quite panic, not quite calm, but a hyper-awareness of what is about to be. A thing moves through a space it barely fits, and the world outside the frame, the soft hum of the highway, the fog’s damp embrace, all of it becomes a kind of silence, a weight held just beyond the threshold of hearing. And the thing itself, so delicate, so utterly complete in its form, demands this much of us. It calls for a precise attention, a kind of collective breath, making everyone present a part of its vulnerable journey.
