About the work

The fire hydrant, in its bright green, is a beacon of human order, but the fox ignores it, focused instead on the glass. There is a sense of desperate persistence in its posture, a faith in the repeatable action, even if the result remains unchanged. This suggests a fundamental misunderstanding, or perhaps a different kind of understanding altogether, where the world is not designed to keep things out. The heavy door is a boundary, absolute for a creature with no thumbs, yet it continues to push. One wonders if it recognizes the building as a place of refuge, or simply as an obstacle. The snow, too, is a barrier, but one it navigates with ease, unlike the door. This feels less like a narrative and more like a recurring moment, a quiet defiance of the human world’s self-evident rules.
