About the work

There is something about things that have run out of water. A sort of grace they acquire, a finality that isn't quite death. The cells still hold their shape, but the spring is gone. Something else begins, a long slow drying out, which has its own beauty, its own kind of holding on. It reminds me of the way some projects never quite finish, not in the way you expect. They just settle. The light comes in, day after day, finding the dust, illuminating the gaps. And the tools sit, waiting for a hand that has perhaps moved on to other things, or simply paused, for a very long time.
