About the work
The delivery driver in the background has been waiting for forty-five minutes. He keeps his phone in his pocket, resists checking, because he knows it will say ‘driver cancelled order’. This is the fourth time today an order has been cancelled mid-delivery. The first time, he went home. The third time, he bought a coffee. This time, he is just standing there, hands in pockets, looking at his feet. He knows this street. He knows this restaurant. He knows he’ll be home late. But he doesn’t know what he’ll tell his wife.
