About the work
One of them is thinking about the pigeon. Not because they’re worried about being judged – pigeons aren’t known for their critical eye – but because a pigeon is solid, undeniable. All of this, the tape and cardboard, the carefully mis-shuffled deck, the lantern that glows weakly in the afternoon light, all of it could disappear. But the pigeon would remain, a small feathered weight on the fence. It’s hard to imagine what the pigeon makes of it all.
